Britain demanded that Iran release of the detained employees of the Embassy in Tehran
June 28, 2009 – 8:48 pmOfficial London demanded that Iran immediately release the British embassy staff in Tehran, calling their detention “intimidation and insult”. This statement was made on Sunday June 28 on the Greek island of Corfu where the plenary meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom David Milibend.
“This is intimidation and insult, which is absolutely unacceptable,” – he emphasized. “We demand to be released without causing any harm,” – the minister said.
Previously, it was reported that eight Iranian officials of the British Embassy in Tehran arrested on charges of involvement in the statements after the presidential elections in the Islamic republic .
