Poll: 25% of Russians would free Khodorkovsky and Lebedev from custody
March 11, 2010 – 10:14 amQuarter of Russians, if it depended on them personally, were released to Khodorkovsky and Lebedev from custody. This is evidenced by the survey data the Levada Center (Levada Center). During this usually “voice” from Moscow – 60% managers, 57%, and wealthy Russians (48%). A majority of Russians (63%) still believes that the bankruptcy and sale of Yukos have benefited a group of businessmen close to government, and by senior officials. And 41% of respondents believed that the government puts pressure on the court in the trial of Khodorkovsky and Lebedev to obtain issuance of a new conviction. And only 7% of respondents believe that the arrest of Yukos executives won the country’s population.
