Obame have to wait with anti-crisis program
January 5, 2009 – 10:51 pmThe leader of the majority in the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress on January 4 stated that the new law on measures to stimulate the economy is unlikely to be adopted by the Day of the inauguration of the new U.S. President Barack Obama (Barack Obama), reported Bloomberg.
” Take this package so quickly it will be very difficult, “- said a member of the House of Representatives Wall Hoyer (Steny Hoyer). Obama takes office on Jan. 20.
Legislators and Obama argued that the law is needed to support the American economy. “Unless we act quickly and boldly, we are waiting for a much more severe economic downturn, which may lead to double-digit unemployment rates,” – Obama said in a weekly radio address to the nation on Saturday.
According to Hoyer, the Chamber Representatives will promote the program by the end of January, then it will go through the Senate and will be transferred to the signature of the president by mid-February.
“We have two criteria. This must be done as quickly as possible, but it needs to be done as it should, “- said Hoyer.
Leader of the majority in the U.S. Senate, Democrat Harry Reid (Harry Reid) has rejected” artificial deadlines “for the anti-crisis program.
